DHS graduate recounts his WWII service on Ellis Island
(Editor's note: As a child George Baldy lived on a farm between Delano and Loretto. He lettered in basketball at Delano High School and graduated from there in 1937. After working for the railroad he joined the Coast Guard. Below he describes his World War II service.

Yesterday evening, when talking to my cousin about how pants things are at the moment. At about 4 this morning. I'm sick of being poorly now, it's been three weeks. Had flu, then sinusitis,then pleurisy and now have chronic bronchitis and my boss at work is being an absolute bitch about it.
