Rangers return to protect Congo mountain gorillas
The director of Congo's Virunga Park says rangers who fled fighting between rebels and soldiers are returning to protect its endangered mountain gorillas.

Mountain Roots exhibit features local artist
BRYSON CITY – An exhibit titled “Mountain Roots” will be unveiled at an opening event at 6 p.m. today at the Swain County Center for the Arts. Included in the exhibit are pastel paintings and an acrylic mural series by Doreyl Ammons Cain, a founder of Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, and pastel paintings by five of her students.
