Pianist Boriskin to play Beethoven concerto
Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto was first performed in 1802. It's not exactly new. The task, then, as pianist Michael Boriskin sees it, is to make it sound new, to recreate some of the excitement that must have been present when this innovative work was first played.
